Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church Medical Mission Hospital was established in 1970 and has grown to become a 1100 bedded multi speciality hospital and centre of excellence in medical education.
Department of Anaesthesiology and Critical Care strives to provide the best of care to patients, excellence in training of medical students and residents. We are led by Dr. Shaloo Ipe, Professor & Head of the Department. We work as a team to meet the challenging and ever-changing needs of our speciality. The department provides round the clock services for perioperative anaesthesia care of patients undergoing routine and complex minimally invasive and open surgeries, pain management, palliative care & critical care.
Keeping with our times, we have world class technology including multimodular monitors, newer anaesthesia workstations & anaesthetic agents, ultrasound guided regional anesthesia and an array of difficult airway equipment.
We have a state of the art “skills lab” which provides students and residents hands on training in life support skills and management of critical incidents. We also cater to needs outside the OR including 24-hour labour analgesia services, cath lab, gastro endoscopic procedures, MRI, ESWL, interventional neuroradiological procedures and critical care services.
Here at M.O.S.C, work goes hand in hand with academics. We regularly conduct highly sought-after CMEs, PG training programmes and workshops in association with national and international faculty. Regular classes and teaching programmes keep our postgraduate residents updated with the current scientific practices. Our postgraduate residents have bagged prizes in national and international conferences and they often secure the highest ranks in the postgraduate examination conducted by Kerala University of Health Sciences.
